The people at Designers’ Rug Center are proud of their commitment to their community, and also their efforts to support those in need around the world.
In conjunction with New York based Noreen Seabrook Marketing, (NSM) a leading importer of fine rugs from around the globe, we are happy to support several worthy causes, such as providing financial support for nursery and other schools in Nepal. Through donations from their business partners, NSM sponsors three schools for the children of the weavers who craft their rug designs. Children up to age five attend classes in English, Math and Nepali. The classes are five days per week, and staffed by qualified teachers and aides.
Older children are also encouraged to attend classes via a subsidy granted by NSM, along with weaving companies who work exclusively under contract to NSM.
At present, there are over 150 children in NSM schools, and all monies go directly to the children’s care, no matter what age. Each manufacturer matches our donations dollar-for-dollar.
Designers’ Rug Center is pleased to be a continuing part of the support and funding of school facilities under the NSM organization. These programs benefit the children exclusively.
